Job summary

Cabaletta Bio is seeking a Logistics Coordinator to oversee the end-to-end movement of patient materials, manufacturing components, and finished products across the cell and gene therapy supply chain.

You will serve as the central contact among treatment centers, manufacturing sites, couriers, and internal teams, ensuring timely, compliant shipments. Strong experience in regulated biologics logistics and international shipping is essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience in cell and gene therapy, biopharmaceutical, clinical trial, or healthcare logistics.
  • Knowledge of chain of custody requirements.
  • Familiarity with cryogenic and temperature-controlled transportation.
  • Experience managing international shipments and customs documentation.
  • Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) or logistics control tower operations.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate domestic and international transportation bookings for patient materials and finished drug products.
  • Schedule shipments with approved specialty logistics providers and courier partners.
  • Ensure transportation arrangements align with manufacturing schedules and patient treatment dates.
  • Prepare and review shipping documentation, customs paperwork, and transportation instructions.
  • Verify shipment readiness and ensure packaging, labeling, and documentation are available prior to dispatch.
  • Monitor shipments from pickup through final delivery using TMS and courier tracking platforms.
  • Provide proactive oversight of shipments to ensure adherence to timelines and temperature requirements.
  • Coordinate corrective actions with logistics providers and internal stakeholders to minimize patient impact.
  • Maintain accurate shipment records and tracking information in designated systems.

Job description

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, booking, tracking, and communication of all patient material, manufacturing material, and finished product shipments across the cell and gene therapy supply chain. This role serves as a central point of contact between treatment centers, manufacturing sites, couriers, depots, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and compliant movement of critical patient-specific materials. The Logistics Coordinator proactively monitors shipments, manages transportation milestones, communicates status updates, and escalates risks to support uninterrupted patient treatment schedules.

Responsibilities Include

Shipment Coordination & Booking

  • Coordinate domestic and international transportation bookings for patient leukapheresis collections, starting materials, intermediates, and finished drug products.
  • Schedule and confirm shipments with approved specialty logistics providers and courier partners.
  • Ensure transportation arrangements align with manufacturing schedules, patient treatment dates, and chain of identity/chain of custody requirements.
  • Prepare and review shipping documentation, customs paperwork, and transportation instructions as required.
  • Verify shipment readiness and ensure all required packaging, labeling, and documentation are available prior to dispatch.

Shipment Tracking & Monitoring

  • Monitor shipments from pickup through final delivery using transportation management systems and courier tracking platforms.
  • Provide proactive oversight of critical patient shipments to ensure adherence to planned timelines and temperature requirements.
  • Investigate transportation delays, route deviations, temperature excursions, and delivery issues.
  • Coordinate corrective actions with logistics providers and internal stakeholders to minimize patient impact.
  • Maintain accurate shipment records and tracking information in designated systems.

Communication & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the primary communication point for shipment status updates across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide timely updates regarding shipment milestones, exceptions, and potential risks.
  • Coordinate communication between treatment centers, manufacturing facilities, couriers, quality teams, scheduling teams, and patient operations groups.
  • Facilitate escalation management for critical transportation events and ensure rapid stakeholder notification.
  • Participate in daily operational meetings and provide shipment status reports.

Operational Excellence & Compliance

  • Ensure all logistics activities comply with GDP, GMP, GxP, IATA, DOT, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain chain of identity and chain of custody documentation throughout the transportation process.
  • Support deviation investigations and root cause analysis related to shipment exceptions.
  • Contribute to SOP development, process improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor logistics performance metrics and assist in developing corrective and preventive actions.
    Required Qualifications
    • Experience in cell and gene therapy, biopharmaceutical, clinical trial, or healthcare logistics.
