Job summary

Dessert Holdings seeks a Logistics Coordinator to manage inbound and outbound shipments, ensure inventory accuracy, and maintain data integrity in the ERP system. This role bridges supervisors and hourly staff, coordinating with QA, Planning, and Procurement to support continuous, efficient operations in a fast-paced dessert manufacturing environment.

You will monitor freight, prepare shipping documents, optimize routes, and analyze cost-saving opportunities while adhering to FDA/FSMA compliance

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years in transportation or supply chain logistics.
  • Proficiency in ERP/WMS (Microsoft D365, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated success in managing carrier relationships.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in organizing and delegation of projects.
  • Strong analytical skills, including data modeling and analysis.
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to foster a collaborative, team-oriented working environment.
  • Demonstrated initiative, problem solving and adaptability.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, FSMA, HACCP, and GMP requirements for all shipments.
  • Serve as the facility's primary logistics contact with suppliers, carriers, and customers; optimize transportation routes and communicate issues to management.
  • Prepare shipping documents (BOLs, customs paperwork, invoices) and maintain compliance with regulations.
  • Manage daily inbound/outbound shipments and ensure on-time delivery and accuracy.
  • Coordinate cold chain logistics and specialized transport to maintain product integrity and report improvements.
  • Maintain ERP entries for shipments, inventory, and production schedules; ensure data integrity.

Job description

LOGISTICS COORDINATOR

We are looking for a Logistics Coordinator to join our team at Dianne's Fine Desserts (a Dessert Holdings based in Newburyport, MA). This individual will support inventory accuracy, cycle count cadence, improvements to the month- and year-end count process, reconciliation of variances, prioritizing loads, and ensuring integrity of transactions in D365. This role will also serve as a bridge between supervisors and hourly staff and will interact cross-functionally with QA, Planning, and Procurement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, FSMA, HACCP, and GMP requirements for all facility inbound and outbound shipments, monitoring adherence and escalating issues when necessary.
  • Serve as the facility's primary logistics contact with local suppliers, carriers, and customers; optimize transportation routes, resolve day-to-day escalations, and communicate key issues to management.
  • Prepare shipping documents (BOLs, customs paperwork, invoices) and maintain compliance with DOT, OSHA, and international shipping regulations.
  • Manage daily inbound/outbound shipments, ensuring on-time delivery and accuracy.
  • Coordinate cold chain logistics and specialized transport to maintain product integrity, tracking performance and reporting opportunities for improvement.
  • Reporting of Supply Chain on hand inventories both materials and Finished Goods and expiration dates.
  • Maintain accurate ERP system entries for shipments, inventory, and production schedules; ensure data integrity and support smooth operations.
  • Review all freight bills emailed by accounting, checking for damage issues, cost and any additional issues arise.
  • Process and track freight claims as damages are found on the freight bills, or as product is refused at the customer's location or if an inbound shipment is damaged.
  • Track and analyze facility-level freight costs, delays, and spoilage; provide recommendations to support operational decisions.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities in freight and logistics.
Qualifications And Requirements
  • 1-3 years in transportation or supply chain logistics.
  • Proficiency in ERP/WMS (Microsoft D365, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated success in managing carrier relationships.

  • Must have a flexible schedule which will accommodate various production schedules
