Job summary

IB Abel, Inc. is seeking a Logistics Coordinator to support the Fleet, Ops, Training, Safety & Quality departments and field operations across our electrical/utility divisions.

You will facilitate equipment moves, track fleet status, and coordinate with drivers and vendors to meet delivery dates, while ensuring safety and compliance. The role requires 5+ years in automotive/truck/equipment fields, proficiency in MS Office, and a willingness to flex schedules during peak demands.

Qualifications

• Five+ years in automotive, truck, or equipment fields.
• Experience with heavy equipment and aerial devices.
• Clean driving record and ability to drive company vehicles.
• Ability to obtain a DOT medical card.
• Proficient in Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Flexible schedule during peak demands.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate equipment moves based on service requests and communicate with all parties.
• Maintain knowledge of fleet status and equipment locations.
• Follow up with field to ensure deliveries/pickups meet dates/times.
• Manage updates for equipment moves in VIS TA and Tenna systems.
• Dispatch drivers or vendors to move/deliver equipment.
• Assist with moving equipment as needed.
• Identify preferred vendors and secure the lowest rental rate.

The Opportunity

To work as a team member for a leading electrical contractor as a Logistics Coordinator who is responsible for providing quality service and support to our operating divisions at various locations operated by I.B. Abel, Inc. This position requires day to day interaction with effective communication and support services between the Fleet, Ops, Training, and Safety & Quality Departments as well as field operations in the Communications, Electrical, and Utility Divisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate equipment moves based on Fresh Service Requests and communicate with all affected parties.
• Responsible for always knowing the status of the Fleet and equipment locations.
• Conduct coordination/follow-up with the Field to ensure deliveries and pickups are completed by the specified date/time.
  o This will involve communication within the Fleet team as well as outside vendors.
• Responsible for all VISTA & Tenna updates of equipment moves.
• Dispatch of drivers or vendors to move/deliver equipment.
• Assist with moving equipment as needed.
• Knowledge of preferred vendors, what products they have and ensure lowest rental rate

Who We're Looking For:

Required:

• Over five years' work experience in the Automotive, Truck or Equipment Field.
• Specific expertise in both heavy equipment and boom equipped vehicles. (aerial devices).
• Driving record free of moving violations, accidents and have the ability to drive company vehicles safely.
• Ability to acquire a DOT medical card
• Outlook Suite, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word skills required.
• Ability to flex your schedule during peak demands.

Desired:

• College Degree - Computer Science, Business Administration, or
  Construction Management.
• Valid CDL and working knowledge of heavy equipment.
