Job summary

Pennex Aluminum Company is seeking a Logistics Coordinator for our Leetonia, OH location. You will execute customer service, transportation, and contract administration to meet business objectives and customer requirements.

The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment. The position offers an afternoon shift with potential flexibility and growth opportunities within the Pennex team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Three years of related transportation and customer service experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsorships are not available.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, controls and implements all processes relating to materials as they flow through the facility.
  • Leads regular status meetings to communicate with customers, suppliers and carriers.
  • Addresses shipment issues promptly with customers.
  • Manages shipments to meet customer demand and monitors pickups/deliveries.
  • Maintains relationships with carriers and measures their performance.
  • Documents shipment details and creates packing lists, invoices and dispatch sheets.

Overview

Consider joining the Pennex family as a Logistics Coordinator at our Leetonia, OH location. TheLogistics Coordinator will be responsible for executing the customer service, transportation, and contract administration elements of the operation. This role functions in a fast paced, demanding environment to ensure business objectives and customer requirements are met or exceeded.Excellent organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail are essential to be successful in this position.We are looking for safe and dedicated individuals to help us serve these customers.


The standard hours for this position will be 2pm to 10pm but may require flexibility.


Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Plans, controls and implements all processes relating to materials as they flow through the facility to outside processors and customers

  • Leads regular status meetings to provide appropriate, consistent, and timely communication to internal and external customers, suppliers, and carriers to ensure accurate processing of shipments

  • Works with customers to address and resolve issues (shipment delays, rejections, etc.) promptly

  • Applies customer service skills to create and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, and vendors

  • Manages shipments to and from outside processors and customers in order to meet customer demand

  • Monitors shipments to confirm pickups and deliveries are moving as scheduled

  • Maintains productive working relationships with carriers and manage carrier performance

  • Other actions include, but not limited to: documenting shipment details, selecting proper inventory, collecting and recording shipping weights and pertinent information from suppliers

  • Creates documentation (dispatch sheets, packing lists, customs invoices) pertinent for movement of cargo and to meet customer needs

  • Works with Pennex supply chain to manage inventory (work in process and finished goods)

  • Creates shipments by using a portal and entering into the Pennex system interfaces

  • Uses problem solving skills to research root causes, develop alternative solutions, assess for impact and drive for results.

  • Must have regular attendance

  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Education



  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred


Experience



  • Three years of related transportation and customer service experience.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, identify solutions, quickly change priorities, meet deadlines and effectively communicate shifts in resources.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

  • Logistics Coordinator must be dedicated to meeting customer needs, understanding how personal actions impact the customer and relationship.

  • Uses active listening to understand stakeholders and respond in a professional and helpful manner.

  • Ability to effectively communicate and present problems and solutions to customers and other stakeholders.

  • Strives to build customer loyalty.

  • Regular attendance is required.

  • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.

  • Must beeligible to work in the United States, visa sponsorships are not available.
