Job summary

Gibraltar Industries is seeking a Logistics Coordinator to partner with the transportation team, ensuring on-time shipments and high customer satisfaction. The role requires coordinating deliveries, communicating with carriers, and maintaining accurate records in a fast-paced plant environment.

You will work with DOT standards, perform data entry, and support cross-department communications to optimize shipment timelines and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Schedule customer deliveries and returns based on trucking logistics and communicate with carriers.
• Check deliveries for accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Input data and maintain records for missed shipments and DOT compliance.
• Schedule common carriers and live loads while coordinating with multiple departments.
• Maintain DOT records and ensure accuracy of driver time records and ELD per DOT standards.
• Inspect returned materials for damage or defects and document outcomes.

Summary: The main goal of a Logistics Coordinator is to collaborate with QAP's transportation team to ensure prompt shipments and exceeding customer expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Schedule customer delivers and returns based on trucking logistics. Maintain constant communication with dedicated carrier to ensure customer needs are meet.
• Check deliveries for accuracy. Research and resolve any discrepancies.
• Input data and maintain accurate record for missed shipments.
• Schedule common carriers and live loads
• Ensure truck drivers time records and ELD are accurate and complete based on DOT standards and QAP policies.
• Qualify new drivers based on DOT and QAP standards.
• Maintain broad knowledge of DOT standards and FMCSA regulations
• Communicate between departments the status of deliveries.
• Schedule maintenance and inspections on trucks and trailers. Communicate with dedicated carrier.
• Track all the proof of deliveries.
• Maintain DOT records.
• Inspect returned materials for damage or defects.
• Maintain accurate shipment dates based on customer needs and finished goods.
• Input data to track department efficiency.
• Ability to maintain regular attendance at QAP facility.
• Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly.
• Maintain communications between cross departments.

Ability to read, write and speak basic English and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and write simple lists. Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with interpersonal conflict.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving forklifts and pallets. The employee is occasionally exposed to hot or cold conditions. The noise level in the work environment is high and requires the use of hearing protections. We also require steel toed shoes and protective eyewear at all times in the plant.
