Job summary

Gibraltar Industries is seeking a Shipping Supervisor to oversee all shipping and receiving activities, ensuring on‑time delivery and accuracy. The role involves directing staff, coordinating with production, and maintaining safety and quality standards within a busy, high-volume operation.

The candidate will manage schedules, supervise a small team, and occasionally travel to other sites, with remote/hybrid options available where appropriate. Comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; a higher degree is a plus.
• 5+ years in shipping/receiving or a lead role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, PRMS, and RF scanners.
• Ability to foster teamwork and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Supervise employees to meet daily shipping schedules.
• Estimate resources to meet department schedules.
• Maintain warehouse efficiency and maximize storage.
• Ensure safety, quality, and performance policies are followed.
• Communicate daily with internal and external customers about order status.

Job description

Supervises all shipping and receiving activities for the given department or departments. These activities include direct supervision of departmental personnel, verifying incoming and outgoing shipments, distribution ofbillof lading, invoices, orders, and prioritizing activities to meet customer demands.

Whatyou'lldo

• Supervise employees to meet daily shipping schedules in high volume capacity traffic on multiple shifts.
• Estimate product, equipment (truck/trailers) and staffingrequiredto meet departmental schedules.
• Managewarehouseinefficientmanner asto gainthe maximumstorage and flexibility.
• Inspect,trainand monitoremployee'scompliance with company's safety, quality and performance policies and procedures.
• "Hands on" approach with small crew plus temporary labor.
• Works closely with production supervisors as necessary to meet customer delivery requirements.
• Ensure order accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency of department including verification of receipts, accuracy of entries,timelytransactions, and accuracy of inventory transactions.
• Communicate daily with Internal and External customers on status of any order related problems.
• Verify employees' production reporting accuracy, proceduralcomplianceand time and attendance.
• Conducts safety audits in compliance with company's programs.
• Develop and implement procedures to train employees in the safe and efficient method of all activities in areas of responsibility.
• Be able to perform all duties and activities of the workers supervised.
• Traveling to other sites less than 10% of the time
