Job summary

  • Experience preparing, verifying, and distributing accurate paperwork, labels, or forms.

The Production Coordinator plays a critical role in bridging the gap between planning and execution by ensuring the seamless flow of orders, materials, and documentation. Operating in a fast-paced environment, this role serves as a key communication link between Production, Sales, and Shipping to provide real-time updates on product availability and order status. Responsibilities include interpreting schedules, coordinating raw materials, executing daily production plans, and preparing essential quality and run documentation. This position is ideal for an organized, detail-oriented communicator who thrives on solving logistical challenges and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to optimize operational efficiency.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Standardize Documentation: Ensure all production run paperwork, including required safety and regulatory check-sheets, is accurate, complete, and readily available before job launch.
  • Support Workplace Audits: Maintain organized, compliant records for all production activities to support internal quality, safety, and regulatory audits.

  • Optimize Order Fulfillment: Utilize real-time order data and dynamic production schedules to verify product availability and meet client delivery timelines.
  • Expedite Critical Orders: Partner closely with production teams to prioritize, fast-track, and troubleshoot urgent customer orders.
  • Provide Order Visibility: Act as the central point of contact for all production-related order status updates, ensuring internal transparency.
  • Execute Production Plans: Support the daily and weekly execution of master production plans to maintain reliable, on-time delivery.
Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
  • Protect Production Flow: Proactively identify, flag, and mitigate scheduling conflicts or material bottlenecks that threaten manufacturing continuity.
  • Drive Efficiency Initiatives: Actively support and contribute to continuous improvement projects aimed at boosting production efficiency and streamlining order workflows.
  • Manage Fast-Paced Priorities: Successfully navigate multiple competing deadlines and shifting priorities in a high-velocity operational environment.
Quality & Inventory Management
  • Manage Material Availability: Coordinate raw material stocking levels to ensure all necessary inputs are available to meet production demands.
  • Facilitate Material Transfers: Identify inventory gaps and execute material transfers between facilities to dynamically support shifting regional demands.
  • Prepare Quality Documentation: Generate and distribute accurate production documents, product labels, and quality control forms to the floor prior to manufacturing runs.
Business Partnership
  • Facilitate Cross-Functional Communication: Bridge the gap between operations and commercial teams by communicating product availability, constraints, and delivery timelines to Sales and Shipping.
  • Interpret Data Collaboratively: Analyze production schedules and complex order data to provide actionable insights to plant leadership and departmental peers.
Education And/or Experience

Preferred Qualifications & Experience
  • Prior experience in a coordination, scheduling, logistics, or operations support role.
  • Experience monitoring stock levels, tracking supplies, or organizing material movement between locations.
  • Background in spotting workflow bottlenecks, errors, or delays and helping implement solutions.
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced operational, industrial, or team-centered environment.

Work Conditions

This position operates in both office and manufacturing environments.

  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical equipment, forklifts, and warehouse traffic.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures and manufacturing conditions.
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed footwear.
  • Moderate to high noise levels are common in production areas.
