Description
The Logistics Coordinator supports the planning, coordination, and execution of logistics, transportation, material movement, and supply chain activities required to support the construction and operational phases of the Stibnite Gold Project. This role is responsible for coordinating shipments, tracking materials and equipment, maintaining logistics documentation, and working closely with Procurement, Engineering, Construction, Contractors, and Site Operations to ensure timely and efficient delivery of project resources in a remote and logistically challenging environment.
Requirements
Supply Chain Coordination
- Support implementation of the Project Logistics Management Plan and related logistics procedures.
- Coordinate material and equipment deliveries in collaboration with Procurement, Engineering, Construction, and Operations teams.
- Monitor shipment schedules and proactively communicate delivery status, delays, and potential risks.
- Assist with coordinating logistics activities to support project milestones and construction schedules.
- Maintain accurate delivery forecasts and shipment tracking information.
Transportation Coordination
- Schedule and track transportation of materials, equipment, and personnel to and from project locations.
- Coordinate with trucking companies, heavy haul providers, aviation contractors, and other transportation vendors.
- Monitor transportation activities to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
- Assist in resolving transportation issues, schedule conflicts, and delivery delays.
- Maintain transportation documentation and shipment records.
Materials Handling & Inventory Support
- Support operations of on-site and off-site warehouses, laydown yards, and storage facilities.
- Maintain inventory records and material tracking systems.
- Coordinate receipt, storage, transfer, and issuance of project materials and equipment.
- Verify shipping and receiving documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with material audits, inventory counts, and discrepancy resolution.
Contractor & Vendor Coordination
- Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for logistics service providers and transportation vendors.
- Coordinate shipment schedules and delivery requirements with suppliers and contractors.
- Track contractor performance and communicate service issues to management.
- Assist with logistics-related purchase orders, invoices, and contract administration activities.
Compliance, Safety & Risk Management
- Follow company safety policies and procedures and support a strong safety culture.
- Ensure logistics activities comply with transportation regulations, environmental requirements, and company standards.
- Assist with identifying and reporting logistics risks, including transportation delays, weather impacts, and route restrictions.
- Support implementation of contingency plans during operational disruptions.
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate records related to shipments, inventory, transportation activities, permits, and receiving documentation.
- Generate reports on shipment status, inventory levels, logistics metrics, and delivery performance.
- Track key logistics data and communicate updates to project stakeholders.
- Participate in project planning and coordination meetings as needed.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing logistics efficiency and effectiveness.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Education & Experience
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred.
- 3-7 years of experience in logistics, transportation coordination, supply chain operations, warehousing, or materials management.
- Experience supporting construction, mining, industrial projects, or remote operations is preferred.
- Experience with inventory management, shipment tracking, and logistics documentation processes.
Skills & Competencies
- Working knowledge of transportation, warehousing, inventory control, and supply chain processes.
- Familiarity with heavy haul transportation and oversized load coordination is preferred.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced project environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to respond effectively to changing conditions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and logistics, ERP, or inventory management systems.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external vendors and contractors.
Certifications (Preferred)
- APICS/ASCM, CLTD, CSCP, or other supply chain-related certification.
- Safety certifications relevant to construction or mining operations (MSHA, OSHA, or equivalent).
