Shift: 2nd Shift (Mon-Fri, 2p-10p)

The Logistics Clerk is responsible for managing/monitoring transportation business processes (i.e. procurement, Freight Bill Audit & Payment, Shipment Planning & Execution) to ensure that solutions are meeting customer requirements. This position will handle repeatable analysis and tasks driving continuous cost and service improvement by recommending and implementing stated improvements. Position will require both customer and carrier interfacing. Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.

Position Detail – Responsibilities
  1. Daily communication via email in regards to both inbound and outbound shipments with carriers and customer service.
  2. Daily interaction with operations team.
  3. Maintenance and analysis of daily, weekly, monthly reports.
  4. Identify and resolve issues that may hinder operations or invoicing.
  5. Assist with the day-to-day management and operation of all transportation functions to ensure timely, high level of customer service in a high growth environment.
  6. Have a strong working knowledge of SAP, WMS & OTM applications and overall transportation and distribution.
  7. Maintain YMS to include but not limited to checking out and checking in drivers, visitors, and suppliers.
  8. Maintain control of the clerk office, either the inside desk or the yard entry point.
Position Detail – Key Qualifications
  1. High school diploma or GED.
  2. 3-5 years in logistics inventory control role or equivalent analytical experience.
  3. General knowledge of shipping, receiving and distribution center operation; understanding of transportation best practices and procedures preferred.
  4. Systems knowledge (SAP, OTM, WMS).
  5. Intermediate to advanced skills with MS Office Products.
  6. Solid analytical skills and problem solving skills with high detail orientation.
  7. Good communication both written and verbal is necessary due to the significant interaction required to ensure alignment and coordination across groups.
  8. Ability to plan work on daily basis, work independently, self-motivated.
  9. Ability to cross train and learn other transportation functions as assigned.
