Job summary

Summer Classics seeks a results-driven Logistics and Trade Compliance Manager to lead logistics office operations, shipment coordination, carrier management, and import/export compliance. This role supports efficient inbound and outbound freight movement while ensuring adherence to DOT, CBP, HTS code, CPSC, and related transportation requirements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in transportation or logistics.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in negotiating prices.
  • Knowledge of DOT compliance and regulations.
  • Mathematical analysis skills for transportation scenarios.
  • Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • SYSPRO or related ERP system experience preferred.
  • International freight compliance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the logistics office team and own overall logistics performance.
  • Coordinate with vendors, carriers, and 3PL partners to achieve service, cost and compliance goals.
  • Oversee product transportation to enforce inbound/outbound freight strategies.
  • Manage DOT compliance requirements and support regulatory adherence.
  • Schedule dock appointments for pickups and deliveries to optimize freight flow.
  • Develop and track transportation metrics and report results to leadership.
  • Calculate freight factors and analyze freight data to inform recommendations.
  • Ensure import/export compliance requirements are met.
  • Assist with SKU creation by applying NMFC and HTS codes as needed.
  • Help develop transportation strategy for inbound/outbound freight movement.

This role supports efficient inbound and outbound freight movement while ensuring adherence to DOT, CBP, HTS code, CPSC, and related transportation requirements.

What You Do
  • Leads the logistics office team and holds overall responsibility for logistics performance.
  • Communicates with transportation vendors, carriers, and 3PL partners to support service, cost, and compliance goals.

  • Manages DOT compliance requirements and supports adherence to applicable transportation regulations.
