Job summary

Inchcape CARCAM in Puerto Rico seeks a Logistics Trade Compliance Lead to oversee import/export operations, FTZ compliance, and cost-efficient logistics. You will manage end-to-end supply chain, monitor KPIs, and drive improvements in collaboration with internal teams and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Oversee domestic and international shipments for motorcycles, boats, marine engines, and spare parts.
• Manage end-to-end supply chain operations, ensuring timely, cost-effective processing, shipping and delivery.
• Monitor shipment status, identify delays, and implement real-time solutions to minimize disruptions.
• Ensure customs compliance with accurate documentation preparation and submissions.
• Develop, track, and report logistics KPIs in collaboration with Head of Logistics and Supply Chain.
• Analyze bottlenecks, delays, and inefficiencies to implement corrective actions.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization across logistics activities.
• Evaluate and recommend new routes, carriers, and shipping methods to improve efficiency.
• Supervise FTZ transactions and maintain FTZ records; ensure CBP and FTZ Board compliance.
• Provide guidance on import/export regulations and company policies.
• Monitor freight rates and costs; ensure alignment with budgets.
• Prepare logistics reports including supplier performance and carrier negotiations.
• Ensure FTZ docs, customs filings, compliance reports are completed on time.
• Supervise Logistics & Trade Compliance Coordinator.

Our Distribution Excellence team is seeking a Logistics Trade Compliance Lead to join our team in Puerto Rico. In this position you will oversee the logistics operations, ensuring compliance with trade regulations, and optimizing supply chain efficiency. The incumbent will manage import/export processes, tracking shipments, resolving delays, and ensuring compliance with Foreign Trade Zone regulations (FTZ). The Lead will analyze supply chain performance, identify improvement areas, and work closely with vendors, freight forwarders, and internal teams.

What you’ll do:

• Oversee domestic and international shipments for motorcycles, boats, marine engines, and spare parts, ensuring efficient movement of goods from origin to destination.
• Manage end-to-end supply chain operations, ensuring orders are processed, shipped, and delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Proactively monitor shipment status, identify potential delivery delays, and implement real-time solutions to minimize disruptions.
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations by coordinating the accurate and timely preparation and submission of all required documentation.
• Develop, track, and report logistics and supply chain key performance indicators (KPIs) in collaboration with the Head of Logistics and Supply Chain.
• Analyze logistics bottlenecks, transportation delays, and operational inefficiencies, implementing corrective actions to improve performance.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization across logistics and supply chain activities.
• Evaluate and recommend new transportation routes, carriers, suppliers, and shipping methods to enhance efficiency and service levels.
• Supervise and approve all Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) transactions, activities, and supporting documentation.
• Maintain FTZ records and reporting requirements, ensuring full compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and FTZ Board requirements.
• Conduct regular audits of FTZ operations, inventory controls, and trade compliance processes to ensure regulatory adherence.
• Provide guidance on import and export regulations, ensuring compliance with applicable trade laws and company policies.
• Monitor freight rate factors and transportation costs, ensuring accurate cost allocation and alignment with budget expectations.
• Prepare and oversee logistics reports, including supplier performance evaluations, freight cost analysis, and carrier negotiations.
• Ensure all FTZ documentation, customs filings, compliance reports, and regulatory submissions are completed accurately and within required deadlines.
• Supervise the Logistics & Trade Compliance Coordinator, providing direction and ensuring the timely and accurate completion of assigned responsibilities.
• Collaborate with suppliers, customs brokers, carriers, government agencies, and internal departments to support seamless logistics and trade compliance operations.
• Train, coach, and mentor team members on logistics procedures, FTZ requirements, customs regulations, and trade compliance best practices.
• Perform other reasonable and related duties as required.

About you

To be successful in this role you will be:

• Qualified with a Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Bringing a minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in logistics, trade compliance, and/or supply chain management.
• Demonstrating strong knowledge of Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) regulations, customs compliance requirements, and import/export laws.
• Experienced in monitoring and reporting key performance indicators, driving process improvements, and conducting cost analysis.
• Possessing excellent leadership, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills, with the ability to manage priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• An effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficient in ERP systems and logistics management software, with the ability to leverage technology to improve operational efficiency and reporting.
