Job summary

Talentify is seeking a Logistics Analyst to oversee strategic planning and analysis across receiving, rejected material, long term storage and work in process for government and contractor furnished material.

You will define KPIs, manage inventory accuracy, prioritize backlogs, coordinate with customers and internal departments, and drive continuous improvement to support material availability.

Job description

The Logistics Analyst is responsible for providing oversight of the strategic planning/analysis of functional areas including: receiving, rejected material, long term storage and work in process areas for government furnished and contractor furnished material and spares. Responsibilities include:

• Responsible for material backlogs including the prioritization strategy to manage the material backlogs as well as to resolve aging backlog issues and establish corrective actions to prevent future occurrences
• Ownership of the strategic plan for prioritizing and assigning work in accordance with functional area needs
• Definition of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for area assigned including the ability to document and report performance based on KPIs.
• Understanding of material priority and communicating prioritization plan to team
• Oversight of inventory audits (Inventory Accuracy Level of 97.5%)
  • Accountable to define and implement corrective actions in response to inventory accuracy audits
• Responsible for plan to review & disposition excess material
• Significant professional interactions with various customers including:
  • EB & SUPSHIP Program Offices, NAVSEA and NAVSUP, Operations, Planning Departments, Purchasing, various Quality Departments, Government Agencies, Newport News Ship Building, and EB Off-Site Departments
• Responsible for writing, reviewing and dispositioning engineering documents
• Ownership of business process and ability to draft and/or modify policies and procedures as needed to adapt to current business practices
• Champion continuous improvement projects/initiatives and support meeting company goals and metrics
• Ownership of business process that supports material availability
