Job summary

White Cap Supply Holdings, LLC. in Atlanta, GA is seeking a data analyst to gather disparate data sources, analyze and normalize data to ensure integrity for reporting and decision making.

You will prepare reports with charts, conduct cost analyses, and provide guidance on data definitions. This hybrid role requires 2–5 years of related experience and a BS/BA (MS/MA preferred); prior logistics brokerage knowledge is a plus. Two days per week in Doraville, GA.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in a related discipline; 2–5 years of experience or MS/MA with 2–4 years.
• Certification may be required in some areas.
• Experience in third party logistics brokerage is preferred.
• Knowledge of data definitions and data normalization.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a resource to assigned client in area of expertise.
• Gathers and compiles raw data; conducts research for industry trends and benchmarks; and normalizes data to be incorporated into a centralized data format.
• Analyzes, reports, makes comparisons to industry/company benchmarks, determines trends, and prepares cost analyses.
• Defines data definitions and documents data limitations.
• Prepares spreadsheets for data analysis; prepare reports with charts and graphs, mailing lists, maps and ad hoc requests.
• Provides recommendations based on findings and analysis. Provides input on policies and procedures.
• Participate in department and interdepartmental projects.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Gather disparate data from various data sources; analyze and normalize to ensure data integrity for analysis. Provide consistent, relevant and accurate data as well as guidance/knowledge of the data and definitions that are available for analysis.

Nature and Scope

• Demonstrates skill in data analysis techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information and inconsistencies/anomalies in more complex research/data.

• Nature of work requires increasing independence; receives guidance only on unusual, complex problems or issues. Work review typically involves periodic review of output by a supervisor and/or direct customers of the process.

• May provide general guidance/direction to or train junior level support or professional personnel.

Work Environment

• Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

• Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

• No travel required.

Education and Experience

• Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 2-5 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 2-4 years of experience in a related field. Certification is required in some areas.

Preferred Qualifications

2+ years’ experience in third party logistics brokerage - REQUIRED

Working knowledge of LTL and T/L freight functions, as well as other modes of transport.

Good verbal and written communication skills, and basic computer skills.

Knowledge and experience using a TMS system will be of benefit - Oracle Transportation Management (OTM) experience is preferred.

This is a hybrid position. Eligible candidates residing in the greater Atlanta area will be asked to work two days a week in our Doraville, GA Field Support Center.
