Job summary

Amentum in Hanover, MD, is seeking a Logistics Specialist to support development, procurement and manufacture of government devices. You will interface with program managers and engineers to ensure material readiness and tracking.

The role requires TS/SCI clearance, strong Excel and AI-driven workflow skills, and some travel between office and lab. Monday–Friday, 8am–4pm, with a competitive compensation package.

Job description

Purpose and Impact:

Assist a multi-functional team in the development, procurement and manufacture of unique devices for the Government where you will serve as a subject matter expert, interfacing directing with program managers and engineers.

Work Schedule:

Position is Monday – Friday 8am – 4pm

Essential Responsibilities:

• Work with Engineering to fulfill material requirements in the development of devices.


• Track and inventory all Contractor Acquired property for the organization.


• Interact with government tracking system (JIRA) to access purchase requests and fill requests in the timely matter.


• Track purchases from order to delivery and update JIRA system to reflect up to date information.


• Utilizing Excel and AI assistance to develop and create support documentation for the invoicing of all purchases.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands: Work takes place in a mix of a corporate office and laboratory environments which will require driving between the two spaces.

Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

• Strong attention to detail and time management


• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and AI


• Must have a TS/SCI clearance

Security Clearance Required:

• MPO TS/SCI poly

Minimum Education:

• High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) equivalent; a bachelor’s degree in business or supply chain management is preferred but not required.

Minimum Years of Experience:

• 10 years of experience as a Logistician.

Preferred Qualifications:

• AI-Assisted workflow automation
