Job summary

Skyeton Inc. is seeking a Logistician in Fayetteville, NC to coordinate inbound/outbound shipments, maintain inventory accuracy, and ensure regulatory compliance across ITAR/EAR requirements.

You will work with cross-functional teams to support production, field operations, and program needs. The role requires an associate degree and 3+ years in logistics or a related field, with ERP/MRP experience and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in logistics, supply chain, business, operations, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • 3+ years of logistics, warehouse, inventory-control, shipping and receiving, or material-coordination experience in a manufacturing or similarly complex environment
  • Experience using an ERP, MRP, warehouse-management, or inventory-control system to process material transactions and maintain accurate records
  • Working knowledge of receiving, inventory control, material handling, kitting, shipping documentation, freight coordination, and carrier requirements
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Teams
  • Ability to interpret purchase orders, work orders, bills of material, packing lists, and shipping instructions
  • Must qualify as a U.S. Person under ITAR/EAR regulations

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments of raw materials, components, tooling, equipment, repair items, and finished products
  • Prepare and verify shipping documentation, packing lists, bills of lading, commercial invoices, certificates, labels, and other records
  • Schedule carriers and freight services, track shipments, communicate status, and resolve delays or discrepancies
  • Support domestic and international shipments with trade-compliance personnel, brokers, and carriers
  • Ensure export-controlled materials are handled per ITAR/EAR processes
  • Perform receiving activities, verify quantities and condition, and route material for inspection
  • Maintain accurate inventory and transaction records in ERP systems
  • Support cycle counts, inventories, and corrective actions for variances
  • Provide material handling, staging, and kit operations to support production and programs
  • Maintain traceability and segregation of conforming and controlled material
  • Follow safety, security, and handling requirements
  • Identify opportunities to improve material flow and logistics processes

Job description

The Logistician supports the accurate, timely, and compliant movement of materials, components, tooling, equipment, and finished goods throughout Skyeton’s U.S. operations. This position coordinates receiving, inventory control, material staging and kitting, shipping, transportation, and logistics records to ensure production and program requirements are met.

Working closely with Supply Chain, Warehouse, Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Program teams, the Logistician maintains inventory and shipment visibility, resolves material-flow issues, and ensures domestic and international logistics activities comply with company procedures, customer requirements, and applicable export-control and transportation regulations.

What you'll do
  • · Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments of raw materials, components, tooling, equipment, repair items, and finished products
  • · Prepare and verify shipping documentation, packing lists, bills of lading, commercial invoices, certificates, labels, and other required records
  • · Schedule carriers and freight services, track shipments, communicate status, and resolve delays, damage, shortages, or delivery discrepancies
  • · Support domestic and international shipments in coordination with authorized trade-compliance personnel, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and carriers
  • · Ensure export-controlled materials, technical data, and shipments are handled only in accordance with approved ITAR/EAR processes and authorizations
  • · Perform receiving activities, including verifying quantities and condition, reviewing documentation, recording receipts, and routing material for inspection or storage
  • · Maintain accurate inventory, location, lot, serial-number, shelf-life, and transaction records in the company ERP or inventory-management system
  • · Support cycle counts, physical inventories, inventory reconciliation, root-cause review, and corrective actions for variances
  • · Pick, stage, kit, issue, transfer, and return materials to support production orders, engineering activities, maintenance, field operations, and customer requirements
  • · Coordinate material priorities and shortages with Planning, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Program Management
  • · Maintain traceability and segregation of conforming, nonconforming, customer-owned, government-owned, hazardous, electrostatic-sensitive, and export-controlled material
  • · Use proper packaging, preservation, labeling, and handling methods to prevent damage, deterioration, contamination, ESD exposure, or foreign-object debris
  • · Monitor inventory levels, open orders, shipment schedules, and material requirements; identify risks and elevate issues before they affect production or delivery
  • · Maintain organized, secure, and audit-ready logistics records in accordance with quality-system, customer, contractual, and regulatory retention requirements
  • · Support quality, customer, government, and internal audits by providing accurate records and objective evidence
  • · Follow all safety, security, access-control, hazardous-material, and material-handling requirements
  • · Identify opportunities to improve material flow, inventory accuracy, packaging, transportation cost, lead time, and logistics processes
  • · Provide responsive logistics support for field deployments, repair and return activity, and time-sensitive program needs
  • · Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • · Associate degree in logistics, supply chain, business, operations, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • · 3+ years of logistics, warehouse, inventory-control, shipping and receiving, or material-coordination experience in a manufacturing or similarly complex environment
  • · Experience using an ERP, MRP, warehouse-management, or inventory-control system to process material transactions and maintain accurate records
  • · Working knowledge of receiving, inventory control, material handling, kitting, shipping documentation, freight coordination, and carrier requirements
  • · Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to maintain accurate, traceable, and audit-ready records
  • · Ability to interpret purchase orders, work orders, bills of material, packing lists, and shipping instructions
  • · Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Teams
  • · Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to coordinate priorities across multiple functions
  • · Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and respond effectively to schedule changes and urgent requirements
  • · Valid driver’s license and ability to qualify to operate company vehicles and powered material-handling equipment, as required
  • · Must qualify as a U.S. Person under applicable ITAR/EAR regulations
Preferred Qualifications
  • · Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business, operations, or a related field
  • · Logistics or material-control experience in aerospace, defense, aviation, UAS, electronics, or another regulated manufacturing environment
  • · Experience with serialized, lot-controlled, shelf-life-controlled, customer-owned, or government-furnished property
  • · Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, defense-contract requirements, and audit-ready material traceability
  • · Knowledge of domestic and international transportation, customs documentation, hazardous-material shipping, and export-controlled logistics
  • · Experience supporting production planning, repair and return activity, field operations, or military programs
  • · APICS/ASCM, CLTD, CSCP, hazardous-material, forklift, or related logistics certification
  • · U.S. military logistics experience or DoD program experience
