Job description

We are seeking a Board-Certifiedor Board-Eligible Hematologist/Oncologist to provide on-site locum coverage ata community-based outpatient practice in Alton, IL. This is a weekday-onlyassignment with no call and a focus on delivering compassionate andcomprehensive hematology/oncology care. The ideal candidate will manage thefull scope of outpatient care and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team tosupport patient treatment and education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct diagnostic work-ups andevaluations for new oncology patients
• Manage and adjust treatment plans,including chemotherapy and targeted therapies
• Perform follow-up visits and monitorpatient progress
• Place and manage orders for lab work,imaging, and treatments
• Collaborate closely with the infusioncenter staff
• Respond to patient care inquiries andclinical concerns in a timely and thorough manner
• Document all care activities accuratelyin the EMR system

Requirements:

• Board Certification or Board Eligibilityin Hematology/Oncology
• Active Illinois medical license (orability to obtain)
• DEA license, Controlled SubstanceRegistration (CSR)
• ACLS and BLS certifications (required)
• Prior outpatient oncology experiencestrongly preferred
