Job summary

Aya Healthcare seeks a full-time operating room support role in Pennsylvania. You will restock supplies, turn over rooms, and gather items for cases in a busy Level 2 trauma center. Shifts are 5 days a week, 8 hours, with options 7-5, 7-7, or 11-7; no on-call required.

Epic EMR is used; case mix ranges from GI to vascular. Independent work is required with 3–12 patients daily depending on room type. Travel and malpractice coverage are included.

Qualifications

• Ability to function independently in a high-demand OR setting.
• Spinals and arterial lines knowledge required; no epidurals or central lines.

Responsibilities

• Restock supplies and prep operating rooms between cases.
• Turn over rooms efficiently and cleanly for the next patient.
• Gather supplies needed for GI, vascular, thoracic or neuro procedures.
• Work autonomously in a busy Level 2 trauma center using Epic EMR.

Clinical Details:

Support Staff: each room is covered by an operating room assistant; to restock supplies; turn over the room; gather supplies needed for special lines
Amount of Coverage Needed per Month: Mon- Fri; mostly Fridays
Patients per day: on average, depending on the type of room they are assigned to (vascular vs GI) ... anywhere from 3-12 patients/day
Patient Population/Age: adults only
Department Description: busy level 2 trauma center

Hospital Bed size: approximately 350 beds
Special Procedures: case mix is everything from GI to thoracic/neuro/vascular/EP lab; no cardiac
Skills Required: ability to function independently; spinals/a-lines; no epidurals or central lines
