Qualifications

• Board Certification highly preferred.
• Board Eligibility required.
• Active Ohio medical license – REQUIRED.
• ACLS – REQUIRED.
• Demonstrated experience with CABG and thoracic surgery.

Responsibilities

• Round on inpatients on the Cardiothoracic Surgery service.
• Provide 24/7 call coverage for emergent cardiovascular and thoracic surgical cases.
• Evaluate and manage patients requiring urgent surgical intervention.
• Perform required procedures onsite for emergent cases.
• Provide CABG and thoracic surgical care.
• Manage vascular cases within scope and experience.
• Provide limited outpatient clinic coverage during surgeon absence.
• Collaborate with hospital staff to ensure timely, high-quality patient care.

We are seeking a LocumsCardiothoracic Surgery Physician to provide inpatient, clinic,and 24/7 call coverage in Steubenville, Ohio. The physician willprovide comprehensive cardiovascular and thoracic surgical care, includingmanagement of inpatients and emergent surgical procedures.

Position Highlights

• UrgentCoverage Dates: September 5, 7:00 AM – September 14, 7:00 AM


• Setting: Inpatient &Clinic


• WeekdaySchedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM


• WeekdayNight Call: 5:00 PM–7:00 AM


• WeekendCall: Saturday & Sunday, 24-hour call, 7:00 AM–7:00 AM


• Call: 24/7


• AverageInpatient Census: 4–6 CT surgery patients


• AverageClinic Volume: 10–12 patients/day


• SurgicalVolume: Approximately 1–2 CABG cases/week and 5–7 other surgical cases/week


• EMR: Meditech

Responsibilities

• Round oninpatients on the Cardiothoracic Surgery service.


• Provide 24/7call coverage for emergent cardiovascular and thoracic surgical cases.


• Evaluate andmanage patients requiring urgent surgical intervention.


• Perform requiredprocedures at the facility; patients requiring emergent procedures shouldbe treated onsite rather than transferred to another facility.


• Provide CABG andthoracic surgical care.


• Manage vascularcases when within the physician’s scope and experience; vascularexperience is a bonus but not required.


• Provide limitedoutpatient clinic coverage for patients requiring evaluation during theregular surgeon’s absence.


• Collaborate withhospital staff and other providers to ensure timely, high-quality patientcare.
