Job summary

Vetted Solutions is seeking an inpatient-only cardiothoracic surgeon for a general CV/thoracic surgery service in Minneapolis. The role requires rounding and admissions, with heavy on-call duties and quick response times.

Responsibilities include performing open and endoscopic procedures such as CABG, valve repairs, TAVR, LVAD, AICD placement, lung resection (VATS), bronchoscopy, and ventilator management, plus esophageal and diaphragmatic surgeries.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient coverage for CV/thoracic surgeries.
• Perform open and endoscopic procedures including CABG, TAVR, LVAD, AICD placement.
• Lung resection (VATS) and bronchoscopy.
• Ventilator management and post-operative care.
• Manage 4-5 consultations, 4-5 patients, and 4-5 admissions per 24-hour call.
• Be present with 20-minute beeper response.

Job description

Responsibilities include performing open and endoscopic procedures such as CABG (on pump and off pump), valvular repair, aneurysm repair, TAVR, LVAD, AICD placement, lung resection (including VATS), bronchoscopy, ventilator management, and surgeries involving the esophagus and diaphragm.

It requires managing 4-5 phone consults, seeing 4-5 patients, and handling 4-5 admissions per 24-hour call, with a call ratio of 1:2.

The position demands quick response times, with a beeper call requiring a 20-minute response.

Qualifications include expertise in general CV and thoracic surgeries, including minimally invasive procedures.

Key skills involve strong clinical judgment, procedural proficiency, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
