Job summary

Weatherby Healthcare is seeking a Cardiovascular/Thoracic surgeon for an inpatient assignment in Duluth, MN. This on-call position requires a 20-minute response time and includes rounding and admissions during 24-hour calls.

Procedures include CABG (on/off pump), valvular/aneurysm repair, TAVR, LVAD, AICD placement, and lung resection including VATs, with bronchoscopy and ventilation management as needed. Travel and housing are prepaid; malpractice is covered.

Responsibilities

• Call only with 20-minute response time.
• Inpatient only setting — rounding and admissions required.
• General CV/thoracic surgery — open and endoscopic procedures required.
• CABG (on pump and off pump), valvular repair, aneurysm repair required.
• TAVR, LVAD, AICD placement, lung resection including VATs required.
• Bronchoscopy, vent management, esophagus and diaphragm surgeries required.
• Paid malpractice insurance; pre-paid travel and housing expenses.
• Assignment details and time entry in online portal.

• Call ratio: 1:2
• 4 - 5 phone consults, 4 - 5 patients seen, 4 - 5 admissions per 24-hour call
