We are seeking a skilled Hospitalist Physician for a long-term locum tenens assignment through Barton Associates starting 07 / 14 / 2025. This opportunity is located in New York and requires coverage for 72 days, starting from the specified date. The ideal candidate will work 2-3 days per week, including Mondays, Tuesdays, and a varying third day, with a mix of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts. The role involves managing inpatient hospital medicine, including rounding, taking new admissions, and overseeing general medicine, neuroscience, and cardio inpatient cases. The physician will work in a teaching hospital environment, collaborating with residents and managing a patient load of 17-22 patients per shift. Job Details : Location : New York Facility Type : Hospital Start Date : 07 / 14 / 2025 LOA : 72 days Provider Type Needed : Hospitalist Physician Schedule : 2-3 days / week (Mon, Tues & 3rd day varies), mix of 8-hour (8a-5p) and 12-hour shifts Responsibilities and Duties : Provide inpatient hospital medicine care Conduct patient rounds on the floor, managing up to 17 patients Handle new admissions and manage up to 20-22 patients in the Emergency Department Oversee cases in general medicine, neuroscience, and cardiology Collaborate with residents in a teaching hospital environment Co-sign resident notes or write independent notes as needed Utilize Epic electronic health record system for patient management Adapt to varying shift schedules, including day and night shifts Additional Information : No codes, procedures, or ICU responsibilities Must be licensed to practice in New York Experience in a teaching hospital environment is beneficial Possibility of assignment extension Apply now to learn more!
