Job summary

CompHealth is recruiting for a locums physician to support ED and inpatient services at a facility in Wytheville, VA. The role includes call coverage from 7 am to 7 am, about two weeks per month, with no clinic duties.

Procedures include central lines, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colectomy, colonoscopy, EGD, hernia repairs, and chest tube placements. ATLS/ACLS/BLS certifications are required, and robotic surgery with the da Vinci system is preferred.

Qualifications

• ATLS, ACLS, and BLS certifications required.
• Central lines, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colectomy required.
• Colonoscopy, EGD, hernia repair, chest tube placement also required.
• Robotically-trained surgeons preferred; da Vinci robot on site.

Responsibilities

• Call coverage from 7 am to 7 am, 2 weeks per month.
• ED and inpatient coverage only; no clinic duty.
• Inpatient census average around 15 patients.
• Board-certified surgeon with experience in required procedures preferred.
• Duty to provide and document past case logs (past 2 years).
• Credentialing and privileging processes are facilitated by us.
