Job summary

77 Consultants seeks an experienced Cardiovascular Surgeon to join a high-volume surgical team in Missouri. The role covers a broad spectrum of adult cardiac and vascular procedures and includes collaboration with a multidisciplinary team for comprehensive operative care.

Coverage is required from December 18 at 7 AM through January 2, 3, or January 8 for cardiac, thoracic, or vascular procedures, with ongoing 1–2 weeks per month in 2027.

Qualifications

• Active Missouri State License or IMLC eligibility.
• Board Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible (certification must be obtained within 5 years post-residency).
• No minimum experience required.
• Flu vaccination: Required or exemptions accepted.
• COVID-19 vaccination: Required or exemptions accepted.
• ACLS is mandatory for conscious sedation privileges.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of adult cardiac and vascular surgeries.
• Collaborate with cardiology, pulmonology, oncology, and critical care teams.
• Address thoracic and vascular needs as part of the cardiovascular program.
• Provide direct patient care during high-volume surgery coverage.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced, patient-centric Cardiovascular Surgeon to join our expanding, high-volume surgical team.

The ideal candidate should have extensive expertise in a wide range of adult cardiac and vascular procedures, as well as significant experience in general thoracic surgery.

In this position, you will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team, which includes cardiologists, pulmonologists, oncologists, and critical care specialists, to deliver exceptional, comprehensive operative care.

While the primary focus is on advanced cardiovascular surgery, proficiency in essential thoracic interventions is highly advantageous to address our community's diverse clinical demands.

We require coverage from December 18 at 7 AM through January 2, 3, or even January 8 for cardiac procedures and any relevant thoracic or vascular skills. If a candidate cannot provide full coverage for this period, the facility is willing to accommodate coverage through January 2.

Looking ahead to 2027, there will be a consistent need for coverage of 1 to 2 weeks per month.

Priority will be given to candidates located within driving distance, those with no malpractice history, and individuals who can commit to the monthly coverage requirement.

Candidates with IMLC qualifications are welcome, provided they can secure a Missouri medical license before the start date.

Volume Details

Average workday consists of 6 to 8 hours.

• Current surgical volume includes approximately 130 CABG procedures annually, with TAVR volumes being comparable.
