Job summary

77 consultants is seeking an Associate-level Physician Assistant for an on-site, contract-based role in Charlotte, NC to deliver high-quality general surgery care in a busy clinical environment.

You will assist surgeons in pre- and post-operative care, perform comprehensive patient assessments, coordinate with RNs and other staff, and document encounters in Epic. Board certification, NC licensure, NCCPA, and strong EHR skills are required.

Qualifications

• Physician's Assistant certification from an accredited program.
• Active state licensure to practice as a PA in North Carolina.
• Current NCCPA certification.
• Associate-level experience in general surgery or a related surgical specialty.
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
• Proficiency in surgical assisting techniques and sterile procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and patient interaction.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, on-site clinical environment.
• Strong documentation and EHR proficiency.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice.

• Manage post-operative care, including wound management, patient monitoring, and complication prevention.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as lab work and imaging studies.
• Document patient encounters accurately and maintain up-to-date medical records.
• Provide patient and family education regarding surgical procedures, recovery protocols, and follow-up care.
• Coordinate with nursing staff and other healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care.
• Participate in surgical rounds and multidisciplinary case discussions.
• Adhere to all clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Schedule: 7a-5p, 4-day workweek

No call requirement

Setting: Inpatient and outpatient

Patient Volume: 15 per shift

Support Staff: RNs, MAs, APPs

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified

BLS required
