ATC Healthcare Northwest is seeking a qualified Locum Tenens Optometrist for a 13-week assignment at correctional healthcare facilities in Madras and Ontario, Oregon. Qualified candidates will hold a Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree, possess an active Oregon license or be able to obtain one before starting, and have prior clinical optometry experience.

Qualifications

• OD degree from an accredited optometry program.
• Active Oregon optometry license or ability to obtain before the assignment begins.
• Previous clinical optometry experience required.
• Correctional healthcare experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive eye examinations and vision screenings.
• Diagnose and manage common eye conditions and diseases.
• Prescribe corrective lenses and medications as appropriate and within the scope of licensure.
• Develop treatment plans and recommend appropriate follow-up care.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support continuity of care.
• Educate patients on eye health, vision correction, and preventive care.
• Follow applicable clinical standards, facility protocols, and professional practice requirements.
