ATC Healthcare Northwest is seeking a qualified Locum Tenens Optometrist for a 13-week assignment at correctional healthcare facilities in Madras and Ontario, Oregon. This opportunity is ideal for an optometrist interested in contract work and serving an underserved patient population.

Active Oregon OD license and prior clinical optometry experience are required. Correctional healthcare experience is preferred but not required, with competitive hourly compensation and the chance to work

Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry program.
• Active Oregon optometry license or ability to obtain before assignment starts.
• Previous clinical optometry experience required.
• Correctional healthcare experience preferred but not required.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently in a structured correctional healthcare environment.

Responsabilités

• Perform comprehensive eye examinations and vision screenings.
• Diagnose and manage common eye conditions and diseases.
• Prescribe corrective lenses and medications as appropriate and within licensure.
• Develop treatment plans and follow-up care.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support continuity of care.
• Educate patients on eye health and preventive care.
• Follow facility protocols and professional standards.
