Requires a Doctor of Optometry (OD), an active Oregon license or ability to obtain it, and prior clinical optometry experience. Correctional healthcare exposure is preferred but not required; strong diagnostic and communication skills

Qualifications

• OD degree from an accredited optometry program.
• Active Oregon optometry license or ability to obtain before start date.
• Previous clinical optometry experience required.
• Correctional healthcare experience preferred but not required.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently in a structured correctional environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive eye examinations and vision screenings.
• Diagnose and manage common eye conditions and diseases.
• Prescribe corrective lenses and medications as appropriate and within licensure.
• Develop treatment plans and follow-up care.
• Maintain accurate patient records.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support continuity of care.
