Job summary

ATC Healthcare Northwest is seeking a qualified Locum Tenens Optometrist (1099) for a 13-week assignment at correctional facilities in Madras and Ontario, Oregon. The role offers competitive hourly pay and the chance to serve an underserved patient population.

The ideal candidate will hold a Doctor of Optometry, be eligible for an Oregon license, and have prior clinical experience. Correctional healthcare experience is preferred but not required, with both part-time and full-time options per

Qualifications

OD degree from an accredited optometry program.
Active Oregon optometry license or ability to obtain before start.
Clinical optometry experience required.
Correctional healthcare experience preferred but not required.
Strong clinical assessment, communication, and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently in a correctional setting.

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive eye examinations and vision screenings.
Diagnose and manage common eye conditions and diseases.
Prescribe corrective lenses and medications as appropriate and within licensure.
Develop treatment plans and follow-up care.
Maintain patient records accurately and timely.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support continuity of care.
Educate patients on eye health, vision correction, and preventive care.
Follow clinical standards and facility protocols.
