77 Consultants in Spencer, IA seeks a Nurse Practitioner to join an oncology/hematology outpatient clinic. The role emphasizes comprehensive patient assessments, treatment planning, and coordination with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and social workers to deliver high-quality care.

The position requires NP boards, current state license, and oncology certification; DEA, BLS/ACLS are also expected. Schedule is Mon-Thu, 10-hour shifts, with paid travel and expenses.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program (MSN or DNP).
• Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice.
• National board certification as a Nurse Practitioner (AANP or ANCC).
• Oncology or Hematology Oncology certification (AOCNP preferred).
• Experience in hematology or oncology practice at the Associate level.
• Strong knowledge of chemotherapy protocols, oncologic drugs, and supportive care management.
• Excellent clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication skills with a compassionate, patient-centered approach.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced clinical environment.
• Current DEA registration and BLS/ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.
• Diagnose and manage hematologic and oncologic conditions under appropriate supervision and protocols.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment and chemotherapy plans.
• Order, interpret, and follow up on laboratory tests, imaging studies, and pathology reports.
• Administer and monitor chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive care medications.
• Manage side effects and complications of cancer treatments to optimize patient comfort and safety.
• Provide patient and family education regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and care plans.
• Collaborate with physicians, oncology nurses, pharmacists, and social workers to ensure coordinated care.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant electronic medical records.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to clinical guidelines and regulatory standards.
