Job summary
AVA Search Group, LLC is seeking a Locum Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP-BC) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) for a Northeast Florida assignment in a Level IV NICU. The role supports vulnerable neonates with a collaborative neonatal team, in a premier children's hospital with 87 beds.
Assignment dates are November and December coverage. Shifts are 13 hours (7a-8p or 7p-8a) with a minimum of 3–4 shifts per month.
Qualifications
- NNP-BC or PA-C with NICU experience.
- Level IV NICU experience is required.
- Florida NP license or compact license.
- Current BLS and NRP certifications.

Locum Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – Northeast Florida
Neonatal role in one of Florida’s premier children’s hospitals with a collaborative, experienced neonatal team—where your expertise directly supports the most vulnerable patients.
- Assignment Dates: November and December coverage
- Schedule: 13 hour shifts (7a - 8p / 7p - 8a) - Requires a minimum of 3-4 shifts per month
- Setting: Level IV NICU with advanced neonatal care and technology - 87 beds
- Patient Load: Approximately 8-12 babies
- Team: Work alongside experienced neonatologists and neonatal nurses
- Coverage Model: Day Coverage: 1 Attending is paired with 2 APPs, for coverage on 25 bed units. 1 Attending and 1 APP on 12 bed unit.
- Night Coverage: 1 APP per unit with oversight by 1 overnight Neo.
- EMR: Epic
- Travel: Full travel and lodging
- Environment: Supportive pediatric hospital system known for excellence in neonatal care
- Be able to do the job as described
- Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP-BC) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) with 2 years of NICU experience - Level IV exp. is a must.
- Florida NP license or able to obtain with compact license during credentialing
- Current BLS and NRP certifications
- Will be cross credentialed at two additional sites- Baptist Medical Center South and Baptist Medical Center Clay
