Job summary

Weatherby Healthcare seeks a locum tenens gastroenterologist to provide inpatient and outpatient coverage in Chicago, Illinois. The physician will perform upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, PEG, and related procedures, with 15 patients per shift and assigned rounding.

The schedule includes call with 30-minute response time and 100% callback, averaging about 5 phone consults, 5 seen, and 5 admissions per 24 hours. ERCP and esophageal dilatation/manometry are preferred.

Responsibilities

• 15 patients per shift with assigned patient rounding
• Beeper call — 30 min response time, 100% callback required
• Upper GI endoscopy, PEG, colonoscopy, and more required
• Small bowel biopsy and sigmoidoscopy (flexible and rigid) required
• ERCP and esophageal dilatation/manometry preferred
• Call includes avg 5 phone consults, 5 seen, 5 admissions per 24 hrs
