Job summary

R. J. Corman Railroad Group seeks a Locomotive Mechanic to join our Lexington, KY team. This full‑time role covers locomotive inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance on company locomotives and equipment.

You will perform mechanical, air, and electrical work, participate in freight car repairs if necessary, and travel as needed. Candidates should have FRA inspection experience and be prepared for on‑call shifts in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Experience with locomotive inspections and repair.
• FRA inspections experience.
• Ability to travel extensively.
• Knowledge of power and hydraulic tools.
• Welding and oxygen/acetylene torching experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform locomotive inspections and repairs.
• Perform preventative maintenance on locomotives and equipment.

R. J. Corman Railroad Company is currently seeking a Locomotive Mechanicto join our team inLexington, KY.

Responsibilities:

• Locomotive andFRA inspections.
• Locomotive repairs including mechanical, air and electrical.
• Performs preventative maintenance on company locomotives and equipment.
• Freight car repair and general equipment repairsif necessary.
• Troubleshoots and repairs equipment as needed.
• Maintain safe and clean work area.

Specialized or Technical Knowledge, or Education and Experience:

• Experienced in Locomotive inspections and repair.
• Experienced in FRA inspections.
• Ability to travel extensively.
• Knowledge of power and hydraulic tools.
• Welding and oxygen/acetylene torching experience.

Physical Requirements:

• Experienced in locomotive and FRA inspections.
• Ability to travel if necessary.
• Ability to work unconventional shifts and be on-call.
• Locomotive repairs including mechanical, air and electrical.
• Knowledge of power and hydraulic tools.

Environmental Conditions:

• Must be able to perform specified duties outside in all weather conditions.
