Job summary

Second shift 1500–2300, pay starts at $29.23–$32.89/hr, rising to $36.54/hr after qualification. Responsibilities include assembling parts, aligning components, welding, testing performance, and replacing major locomotive parts

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED and one year certificate or 4 years heavy mechanical repair experience.
• Experience reading blueprints.
• Must be a qualified welder.

Responsibilities

• Fits and assembles parts into complete assembly.
• Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly.
• Installs machined replacement parts and tests operation.
• Operates welding equipment to cut or weld parts.
• Performs mechanical inspection and repairs to FRA standards.
• Tests locomotives for performance using load box.
• Replaces brake shoes on locomotives.
• Disassembles and rebuilds locomotive trucks and components.
• Repairs diesel engines and related equipment.
• Disassembles and reassembles locomotives and machinery.
