The role involves travel to Progress Rail manufacturing sites and customer locations in the U.S., with a focus on developing practical skills and industry knowledge. Interns will train under experienced technicians, work safely on customer properties, and contribute to build procedures, training documents, and system videos.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in electrical or mechanical engineering with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Solid foundation in mechanical and electrical systems preferred.
• Analytical ability for complex problems and learning on the job.
• Travel may be required, possibly up to a week at a time.
• Spanish is an asset, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Assist in understanding locomotive systems and maintenance through on-site learning.
• Learn and follow safety rules while working on customer properties.
• Assist with data tracking and documentation of work performed.
• Help develop training materials and procedural documents for locomotive builds.
• Support engineers and technicians with field service activities and location travel.
• Create notes and reports to communicate findings and results.
