Job summary

Phoenix Technical Solutions is seeking a Drives Controls Engineer to develop locomotive, OHV propulsion and auxiliary drive control systems. You will craft control algorithms, develop software requirements, and implement model-based designs, then integrate and verify through SIL/HIL environments.

You will work with teams across software, power electronics and verification to ensure robust control functionality and successful field deployment.

Qualifications

BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering or technical discipline with 3–6 years of related experience.
Experience with embedded architectures and mapping legacy C/C++ code to modern models.
Strong knowledge of motor control algorithms and power electronics.

Responsibilities

Work cross-functionally to identify requirements and design drive control systems.
Develop detailed control designs and interfaces between propulsion, braking, auxiliary, and supervisory systems.
Create test vectors, run desktop simulations, and support SIL/HIL verification environments.
Coordinate with other engineering teams for successful integration of drive control functionality.
Build, simulate, and modify model-based control architectures using MATLAB/Simulink and Stateflow.
Develop engineering tests to validate drive control solutions.
