Job summary
Quest Global in Erie, PA is seeking an Electric Drives Control Engineer to lead heavy vehicle propulsion and drive control development, including model-based design with MATLAB/Simulink and real-time verification. You will collaborate with Systems, Software, Power Electronics, and Verification teams to deliver robust control features.
The role requires 3–5 years in HIL and real-time simulation, expertise in drives, power electronics, and FOC, plus strong communication and design review skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related STEM discipline.
- 3–5 years of experience in HIL system design and real-time simulation.
- Expertise in Drives and Power Electronics, AC Traction Drives, and motor control.
- Strong MATLAB/Simulink proficiency for model-based development.
- Experience in requirements and configuration management.
- Ability to conduct design reviews and defect analysis.
Responsibilities
- Documentation of Existing Drives Control Features
- Integration and Baseline Merging of Existing Drives Control Features
- Full Lifecycle Development of New Drives Control Features
- Develop plant models using MATLAB/Simulink that accurately represent various power converter topologies
