Job summary

The Ohio Department of Youth Services in Highland Hills, OH, is seeking a locksmith/maintenance technician to install, repair and replace locks, cylinders, door closers and related hardware. The role includes key creation, inventory control, and preventative maintenance of doors and locks at the Cuyahoga Hills Juvenile Correctional Facility.

You will perform carpentry, electrical, plumbing and custodial tasks, keep detailed records, and support safety and security operations.

Qualifications

• 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in locksmithing.
• 3 mos. trg. or 3 mos. exp. in inventory control.
• Or equivalent Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and replace locks and locking devices at the facility.
• Lubricate and adjust locks; replace tumblers, padlocks and electronic devices.
• Make new keys using key cutting equipment; maintain key inventories.
• Perform preventative maintenance on locks and doors and inspect wear.
• Operate PC to maintain records, prepare requisitions and reports.
• Perform custodial and roofing, carpentry, electrical and plumbing repairs as needed.
