Job summary

The Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking a skilled Locksmith to service county buildings, facilities and maintenance shops. You will install, repair, and maintain locks and electronic access controls, respond to emergencies, and manage master key systems.

Required is two years of locksmith experience and a Florida Class E license; preferred are related certifications and CMMS experience. This is an on-site position with county benefits and standard inspections.

Qualifications

• Requires two years of progressively responsible experience in all phases of the locksmith trade or closely related experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Class E Driver's License for duration of appointment.
• Preferences include an Associate's degree or vocational certification, Certified Master Locksmith, and related credentials.
• Experience with Schlage restricted keyways, master key systems, and MIWA or similar locking systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain locks and security systems in Broward County facilities.
• Respond to emergency lockouts and work orders; maintain master key systems and records.
• Install and program electronic access control locking systems.
• Cut and duplicate keys and re-key locks; document statuses in CMMS.
• Coordinate with outside contractors to complete work to county standards.
