Job summary

TDRS Recruitment Limited seeks a Lock, Safe and Vault Technician for a mobile role covering security equipment servicing across New Jersey. You will service safes, vaults, locks, and related banking security equipment with emphasis on fault diagnosis and preventive maintenance.

Ideal candidates are mechanically minded, with experience in locksmithing or safe/banking equipment, capable of handling urgent issues calmly while following security procedures.

Qualifications

• Mechanically minded with a practical approach to problem-solving.
• Familiar with email and Outlook.
• Able to organize a mobile workload and manage competing priorities.
• Calm and professional when dealing with urgent or high-pressure situations.
• Physically able to bend, kneel, stoop, stand and walk throughout the day.
• Holder of a valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Service and maintain commercial safes, vaults, locks, and related security equipment.
• Change combinations on mechanical and electronic locking systems.
• Open safe-deposit boxes and replace defective locks.
• Inspect and test vault security features and access controls.
• Work with time locks, time movements, and associated tables.
• Diagnose mechanical, electronic, and software faults.
• Repair drive-up banking equipment, including VAT systems and deal drawers.
• Complete scheduled cleaning and basic equipment maintenance.
• Respond promptly to faults that could affect security or customer operations.
• Explain equipment use and basic troubleshooting to customers and colleagues.
• Keep knowledge of security products and working practices up to date.

Locksmith, Safe, and Vault Technician

$25–$35 per hour | Full-time | Mobile role

We are working with a well-established security services business that is adding a technician to its safe, vault, and banking equipment team.

You will cover customer locations across Westchester, Rockland, and Putnam counties. The work includes planned maintenance, fault diagnosis, combination changes, repairs, and customer support. This opportunity could suit an experienced locksmith or a mechanically capable technician with relevant safe, vault, or banking equipment knowledge.

The role

Service and maintain commercial safes, vaults, locks, and related security equipment.

Change combinations on mechanical and electronic locking systems.

Open safe-deposit boxes and replace defective locks.
