Job summary

Simplot Company is seeking a Supervisor to lead and develop a crew responsible for maintenance, warehouse operations, and delivery within the Unit. The role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and accurate recordkeeping while coordinating with management on equipment planning and facility improvements.

Location at SGS Retail - Pocomoke City in the United States; preferred candidates hold an Associate’s degree and warehouse management experience, with agriculture experience and row crop knowledge

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree (A.A. or equivalent) preferred.
• Warehouse management experience including inventory control.
• Experience in Agriculture industry preferred.
• Experience with row crops highly preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and performs equipment and plant maintenance work, loading and delivery of product to customers, receiving and unloading, warehouse inventory and storage functions, and/or duties related to the appropriate application of chemical and fertilizer products such as calculating product amounts and calibrating equipment.
• Ensures manpower needs for functional area are provided for by selecting, coaching, training, and managing performance of crew. Monitors safety policies and procedures to ensure regulatory requirements are met. Organizes day-to-day operation and determines work practices and procedures to optimize utilization of resources.
• Assists management in planning equipment purchases and facility improvement.
• Performs recordkeeping functions related to inventory, scheduling, parts ordering, employee files, etc.

Summary

The Supervisor is responsible for selecting, training, and supervising crew in performance of maintenance, warehouse, delivery and/or daily operations of the Unit.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervises and performs equipment and plant maintenance work, loading and delivery of product to customers, receiving and unloading, warehouse inventory and storage functions, and/or duties related to the appropriate application of chemical and fertilizer products such as calculating product amounts and calibrating equipment.
• Ensures manpower needs for functional area are provided for by selecting, coaching, training, and managing performance of crew. Typical Education

• Associate's Degree (A.A. or equivalent) is preferred (Equivalent experience of education and experience will be considered for meeting the minimum requirements of the role).
• Must have warehouse management experience including inventory control.
• Experience within the Agriculture industry is preferred.
• Experience with row crops is highly preferred.
• Ability to demonstrate interpersonal skills, communication and customer service skills and ability to maximize productivity within a team environment.
• Must have experience with Microsoft Suite including Word and Excel.

Required Certifications

• A Drivers License is required.
• A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Class A is desired, or the willingness to obtain one after hire.

Other Information

• Knowledge: Advanced expertise relating to the assigned functional area, in specific technological areas which would include: mechanical, equipment, record-keeping. Familiarity with farming environments, knowledge of chemical and fertilizer requirements and application techniques, knowledge of geographic area including types of crops and farming requirements and cultural practices would be helpful. Incumbents typically have experience in the industry. Experience within Grower Solutions.
• Skills: Demonstrated supervisory, planning, organization, interpersonal, communication and leadership skills. Ability to maximize productivity within a team environment. Proactive in providing customer service and support beyond typical operational needs. Analysis and problem-solving abilities to deal with out-of-the-ordinary assignments.
• Distinguishing Features: Works independently under general guidelines. Incumbent uses established procedures, customer needs, goals, and Supervisor s direction to set priorities.
