Job summary

Central Farm Service in Minnesota seeks a Branch Location Manager to lead operations, meet cooperative goals and guide employees to deliver strong financial and customer service results.

You will supervise all branch activities, manage customer relations, drive sales growth, and ensure compliance with safety and DOT regulations while coordinating with regional teams to optimize performance.

Qualifications

  • Post high school training in business management or ag related fields or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to communicate well with customers and employees.
  • Knowledge of agriculture and cooperatives.
  • Working knowledge of computers and computerized accounting.
  • Knowledge of agricultural supply products and sales and grain marketing.
  • Maintain a valid CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements.
  • Maintain DOT medical certification.
  • Maintain insurability requirements per insurance guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all operational and business aspects of the branch location.
  • Supervise location employees including training, coaching and annual performance reviews.
  • Assist Regional Sales Agronomists with sales order entry and coordination of sales.
  • Manage all aspects of customer service for the location.
  • Ensure all products at that location are accurately invoiced.
  • Communicate with and maintain good relationships with customers, resolving complaints quickly, fairly and within company policies.
  • Strive to increase sales and obtain new customers.
  • Coordinate labor requirements with other locations and departments.
  • Communicate labor and equipment needs, repair and facility improvement requests to management.
  • Observe and enforce all company policies.
  • Follow all safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Represent yourself and CFS professionally at all times in action and appearance.

Description

Position Objective: In this job, the team member will manage a branch location according to cooperative goals and guidelines, providing products and services to meet customer’s needs and provide leadership and direction to the employees that produce desired financial and customer service results.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervise all operational and business aspects of the branch location
  • Supervise location employees including training, coaching and annual performance reviews
  • Assist Regional Sales Agronomists with sales order entry and coordination of sales
  • Manage all aspects of customer service for the location
  • Ensure all products at that location are accurately invoiced

  • Implement housekeeping, maintenance and identification programs for the facility and assigned vehicles/equipment
  • Coordinate the labor requirements in cooperation with other locations and departments
  • Communicate to management the labor and equipment needs, repair and facility improvement requests
  • Observe and enforce all company policies
  • Know and follow all company safety policies/procedure. Perform work in a safe manner while observing all traffic laws and all OSHA state and federal safety regulations
  • Represent yourself and CFS professionally at all times in action and appearance.
  • Make decisions and follow instructions with little or no supervision
  • Perform other duties and projects as requested by supervisor or management
Requirements

Licensing, Certification and Qualifications:

  • Post high school training in business management or ag related fields or equivalent experience
  • Ability to communicate well with customers and employees
  • Knowledge of agriculture and cooperatives
  • Working knowledge of computers and computerized accounting
  • Knowledge of agricultural supply products and sales and grain marketing
  • Maintain a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with hazmat and tanker endorsements.
  • Maintain required Department of Transportation (DOT) medical certification
  • Maintain insurability requirements in accordance with property and casualty insurance guidelines

Working Environment: Will be subject to outdoor temperature fluctuations, bouncing or jolting. Ability to work extended hours.

Physical Demands: Able to lift and carry 25 to 80 pounds; climb ladders and steps; reach above, below and at shoulder level; work on or with moving machinery; have full use of arms, hands, legs; have good finger dexterity; subject to twisting motions
