Job summary

Figure is developing general purpose humanoid robots for enterprise tasks and is based in Sunnyvale, CA. We seek Localization and Mapping Engineers to enable humanoids to operate in dynamic real-world environments. This in-office role requires five days per week of collaboration.

You will architect real-time localization, fuse sensor data, and build scalable pose-tracking pipelines. You will calibrate multi-camera and IMU systems and deliver robust software for robotics applications in

Qualifications

• Deep technical expertise in estimation and nonlinear optimization.
• Strong knowledge of 3D geometry, visual-inertial SLAM, and CV techniques.
• Experience writing performant C++ software.
• Hands-on sensor calibration experience with multi-camera and IMU intrinsics/extrinsics.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
• Passion for humanoid robotics technology.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement real-time localization, ego-motion tracking, and state estimation by fusing multi-modal sensor data.
• Build and maintain offline pose-tracking pipelines for large-scale training data.
• Develop and optimize multi-sensor calibration systems for robotics and data collection platforms.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to build evaluation and testing frameworks.
• Design, engineer, and deploy high-quality software for robotics applications.
