Job summary

PMS Pharmacies in New Mexico seeks a Per Diem (PRN) Regional Floater Pharmacist with an active NM license and retail experience. Travel is from Carlsbad to Pecos, NM, with mileage reimbursement and lodging if applicable. Premium pay is available for eligible shifts.

Candidate should provide exceptional patient counseling, manage drug orders, and coordinate with physicians. This role requires flexibility and strong pharmacy operations knowledge.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of drugs, indications, dosing, side effects, and administration.
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
• Knowledge of policies and regulations for disbursement of pharmaceutical drugs.
• Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards.
• Ability to supervise and train staff.
• Familiarity with accreditation/certification requirements (if applicable).
• Proficiency with computers and related software.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and fill drug orders.
• Provide patient information and counseling.
• May act as Pharmacy Manager in absence of PIC/Pharmacist in charge.
• Contact physicians regarding prescription questions.
• Dispense prescriptions, compound, and prepare IV admixtures (if applicable).
• Monitor drug therapy for interactions and contraindications.
• Maintain medication records and inventory.
