This position reports to:

Category Manager - Regional Transportation

The Local Trade Compliance Officer & Product Classification Engineer is responsible for local import/export operations, strategic planning, and supervising customs brokers' performance. This role ensures smooth execution of trade and customs activities within a local unit, including documentation and regulatory compliance.

Work model: #LI-Remote. Applicants must be located on the East Coast of the US.

Key Responsibilities:

• Classify ABB products, software, and technology for export control (dual-use/military) and customs (HS codes) compliance.
• Manage origin calculations for global trade activities.
• Monitor import/export shipments and coordinate with customs brokers for clearance.
• Apply customs procedures and trade regimens, ensuring accurate declarations.
• Audit customs brokers for accuracy and maintain compliant archives.
• Handle documentation and systems (e.g., SAP GTS) for import/export operations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
• Minimum 8 years' experience in Trade & Logistics, including classification and import/export
• Experience in global logistics within a global company
• Skills in data analysis, logistics, customer satisfaction, and supply chain management
• Knowledge of governance, import/export control, and customs regulations
