  • 2) Convert production plans and forecasts into requirements, POs, delivery schedules and JIT call-offs; validate lead times, MOQs, capacity, logistics and safety stock, and align PSI with ERP and supplier schedules.
  • 3) Manage the complete PO cycle, including issuance, revisions, supplier confirmations, open/past-due orders, delivery discrepancies, completion and closure.
  • 4) Oversee Delivery Orders and JIT execution; verify shipping, in-transit status, backup transportation, quantities, delivery windows and final receipt for critical materials.
  • 5) Manage U.S./Mexico suppliers and coordinate cross-border transportation, customs requirements, lead times and delivery schedules with responsible functions.
  • 6) Develop Steel/Resin and other raw-material purchasing strategies; monitor commodity indices, tariffs, duties, freight rates, availability, capacity and cost-reduction opportunities.

  • 8) Set supplier KPIs for OTD, delivery-window compliance, quantity accuracy, quality, responsiveness, capacity and cost; lead supplier reviews, audits, recovery meetings and corrective-action closure.
  • 9) Establish contingency and recovery plans for late/partial deliveries, border delays, logistics disruptions, raw-material shortages and demand increases.
  • 10) Set inventory, safety-stock, min/max and inventory-days targets; control raw material, components, WIP, excess, slow-moving, obsolete and aging stock to improve turns and working capital.
  • 11) Manage forecast/engineering changes, model transitions and EOL; coordinate consumption or disposition plans, investigate inventory discrepancies, and reduce scrap/write-offs with clear financial exposure and recovery actions.
  • 12) Lead, coach and develop buyers/material-management staff; assign categories, suppliers, responsibilities and targets, and manage workload, performance, training, succession and absence/PTO backup coverage.
  • 13) Conduct daily shortage-risk and weekly PSI, open-PO, OTD, forecast and aging reviews; maintain root causes, countermeasures, owners and due dates, and support urgent production issues outside normal hours when required.
  • 14) Collect, validate and submit weekly, monthly and ad hoc HQ/management reports; develop annual/long-term supply, capacity, localization and risk plans, improve processes/systems, support audits and close assigned follow-ups.
  • 15) All other duties as assigned.
