Job summary

Southeast Freight Lines is seeking a P&D Driver in the Augusta area to pick up, transport, and deliver freight locally. You will be the face of Southeast Freight Lines, serving our customers regularly and ensuring compliance with all safety policies.

You will perform vehicle inspections, load and unload cargo, and handle transport documents, including HazMat requirements; 21+ and English literacy are required, along with a valid CDL and endorsements. Experience preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and write in English; perform simple math.
• Must meet DOT rules, hours of service, vehicle inspections, and hazardous materials transport requirements.
• Meeting DOT physical qualifications and passing alcohol and drug tests are mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Conduct vehicle inspections and prepare for loading/unloading of cargo.
• Operate tractor-trailer and perform coupling/uncoupling as needed.
• Manage loading/unloading, and ensure accuracy of transport documents, especially with HazMat.
• Drive in various conditions and respond to incidents or delays with safety and professionalism.
• Maintain driving logs, read maps and road signs, and adhere to company safety policies.
