Job summary

The Building Center, Inc. seeks a Non-CDL Driver in Boone, NC to deliver orders accurately and on time, representing the company professionally and in compliance with DOT regulations. This hourly, non-exempt role supports operations under the supervision of the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading assistance, vehicle inspections, route planning, and maintaining safety and customer service standards while performing occasional warehouse tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
• Ability to communicate information to dispatch and customers.
• Ability to read and understand simple instructions and memos.
• Experience or ability to maintain a safe driving record.
• Experience operating forklifts and warehouse equipment when required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare truck for operation and verify shipping papers.
• Inspect tires, brakes, and fluids for safe operation.
• Deliver orders via efficient routes within timeframes and meet customer needs.
• Maintain communication with the company during deliveries.
• Document deliveries and report discrepancies.
• Gather customer feedback to improve service and resolve issues.
• Inform customers about new products and services to boost satisfaction and sales.
• Maintain records for safety, security, and quality processes.
• Perform occasional warehouse and counter duties.
• Remain knowledgeable about company policies and procedures.
