Job summary

Smith Turf & Irrigation is seeking an Internal transfer driver to safely operate STI vehicles, delivering products between distribution centers and local STI locations. You will load and unload, ensure timely delivery, and adhere to transportation regulations.

Responsibilities include vehicle maintenance checks, assisting with warehouse duties, and supporting operations across North and South Carolina and surrounding regions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of non-commercial driving experience.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions.
• An aptitude for delivering top-notch customer service experience.
• Ability to pass and maintain hiring standards- background, MVR, drug testing for insurance standards.
• Capable of routinely lifting or moving inventory weighing up to 75 pounds.

• Deliver internally transferred products from the distribution center to surrounding local STI locations.
• Load and unload products and equipment on trucks, flatbed trailers or truck racking.
• Ensure timely delivery and/or pickup of products and/or equipment to and from STI locations.
• Operate vehicles in accordance with local, state, and federal transportation regulations.
• Maintain vehicles by conducting daily inspections for maintenance needs, licensing and registration expirations and reporting any deficiencies to the management.
• Assist with warehouse duties- pulling orders, stocking inventory, maintaining the yard.
• Additional tasks that are needed.

Position Overview

Internal transfer driver is responsible for safely operating STI vehicles while delivering products and equipment to other STI locations. They are fueled by dedication and play a critical role in upholding our reputation for exceeding our customers’ expectations.
