Job summary

Smith Turf & Irrigation LLC is seeking an Equipment Setup and Delivery Driver to assemble TCE equipment and deliver products to customers in the Virginia region. You will load and unload items, assist with warehouse duties, and work with our sales team to ensure customer satisfaction.

A minimum of 2 years of non-commercial driving and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds are required. Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and demonstrate a strong safety mindset, reliability,

Qualifications

• Experience assembling landscape equipment a plus.

Responsibilities

• Equipment/assembly: Set up equipment per manufacturer specs; learn product lines; load/unload for delivery; assist with warehouse and showroom stocking.
• Delivery: Ensure prompt, professional customer interactions; timely delivery/pickup to job sites; operate vehicles per regulations; conduct daily vehicle inspections and report issues.

Position Overview

Equipment setup / delivery drivers are responsible for assembling TCE equipment and delivering products and equipment to our customers.

What You’ll Do

Equipment/Assembly Duties

• Setup equipment according to manufacture specifications
• Establish a solid understanding of products and equipment sold at STI
• Load and unload products and equipment for delivery
• Assist with warehouse duties, stocking inventory in the warehouse and in the showroom, maintaining the yard
• Work with our field sales team and other internal associates to enhance customer satisfaction and to facilitate a team atmosphere

Delivery Driver Duties

• Ensure every customer interaction is marked by promptness, professionalism, and precision
• Endure timely delivery and/or pickup of products and/or equipment to and from customer facility or job site
• Operate vehicles in accordance with local, state, and federal transportation regulations
• Maintain vehicles by conducting daily inspections for maintenance needs, licensing and registration expirations and reporting any deficiencies to the management

Skills We Are Seeking

• Ability to read and follow written instructions
• Ability to work independently
• Minimum of 2 years of non-commercial driving
• Experience in driving a non-commercial truck/trailer combo is preferred but not required
• Experience assembling landscape equipment is plus
• Ability to read, understand and follow written instructions
• A proven aptitude for delivering top-notch customer service experiences
• A keenness to learn, adapt, and implement new technologies and mythologies
• Capable of routinely handling items weighing up to 75 pounds
• Ability to pass and maintain hiring standards for non-commercial drivers (background, MVR, drug testing, insurance standards)
• High school diploma or its equivalent is required
