South Hills Movers, a 101-year-old family-owned Pittsburgh company based in Bethel Park, seeks a Local Planning & Dispatch professional to organize daily local moving schedules and coordinate crews and drivers. The right candidate communicates effectively with customers and internal teams while ensuring schedules run smoothly and safely.

Responsibilities include dispatching, monitoring moves, maintaining records, and optimizing crew utilization.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure.

• Comfortable working with computers and learning new systems.
• Previous experience in dispatch, logistics, transportation, moving, or a related field is preferred.
• Familiarity with driver Hours of Service and transportation safety requirements is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily local moving schedules and crew assignments.
• Dispatch crews, drivers, and equipment efficiently.
• Communicate with customers, crews, drivers, and internal departments.
• Monitor moves throughout the day and adjust schedules as needed.
• Track and help ensure compliance with drivers' Hours of Service (HOS) requirements.
• Assist with day-to-day transportation and operational safety, helping ensure drivers and crews follow company safety procedures.
• Resolve scheduling and operational issues quickly and professionally.
• Help ensure crews have the information and resources needed to complete each move successfully.
• Maintain accurate schedules, job information, and driver records.
• Help maximize truck and crew efficiency while maintaining excellent customer service.
